West Bergen’s Asperger’s Services offers a broad range of highly specialized programs for children and adolescents with Asperger-related symptoms. These include Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder - NOS, and Non-Verbal learning Disabilities. Treatment consists of small groups, led by two or more facilitators. The focus of each group is to teach, model, reinforce and internalize essential and appropriate social skills behavior.
In addition, the team is also available to provide comprehensive assessment and evaluation as well as individual and family therapy. Social Skills Groups cover the full spectrum of ages, ranging from Pre-School Groups to Adult Groups. Groups are geared developmentally, and utilize a narrow age span for each group.
