Pledges - Multi-year pledges enable the donor to contribute a larger gift than would
be possible in any one-tax year. Pledge payments may be made over a three year pledge
period.
Publicly Traded Securities -Suggested procedures for making such gifts are available
upon request.
Real Estate and Tangible Personal Property - Gifts of real estate may take the form
of an outright gift of the donor's entire interest in the property - or the gift
may be subject to a reserved life estate for the donor.
Gifts of Insurance - Gifts of new or existing life insurance policies may be made
by naming West Bergen Mental Healthcare as the owner and irrevocable beneficiary
of the policies.
Corporate Matching Gifts - Many corporations or organizations will match cash gifts
made by individuals who are associated with them. Usually the personnel office
can provide the necessary information and forms.
Charitable Remainder Trusts - Charitable remainder trusts provide a life income
to donors or other named individuals with the remainder of the trust fund ultimately
passing to the benefit of West Bergen Mental Healthcare.
IRAs - The Pension Protection Act of 2006 allows individuals over the age of 70
and a half to make gifts using funds from their individual retirement account.
Bequests - A bequest in one’s will is another
way to contribute to West Bergen. A donor can give a specific bequest amount
or give a percentage of the total estate. The donor should seek the services
of an attorney or financial adviser for assistance with a bequest.
